Punishment is not pick 'n mix - judge.

A New Mills man has been jailed for 28 days for failing to complete a court order after being told by a judge that people could not pick and choose their own sentences.

Glen William Cullen, 45, of Hyde Bank Road, was convicted of causing harassment after a trial in September last year.

He was sentenced to a 120 hour community punishment order which he has failed to complete, High Peak Magistrates heard on Wednesday.

Mike Law, prosecuting, told the court Cullen had threatened Gerald Judge at his home in New Mills in April last year.

Mr Law said: "He (Cullen) said 'you're dead, I'm gonna slash your face, go and get your knife."
